About The Lord Restores
One aspect of Jehovah Rapha or The Lord Restores is that of maintaining our health through the process of restoration.
It is not HIS supernatural healing. It is not HIS miracles. It is not HIS gifts of healings.
III John 2 states: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in good health.
The operative word is “be.” Yes, God can heal us supernaturally from disease, but He desires that we “be” in a steady state of good health.
We are supposed to move out with the Word, and any sickness slows us down.
To better understand this restoration attribute of Jehovah Rapha we need to start at the beginning. God made, formed and created man as a 3 dimensional irreducibly complex mosaic;
Every part interconnected, for every process – another restorative process;
For every action – another restorative action.
The Word always supports itself.
As it says in Ps 139:14, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, stated another way, we are knit together, just like a sweater. All threads are interwoven in a sweater, pull one thread and you affect all the others.
If God wishes something, (our continuing good health) above all things, it logically follows that He will provide a method for us to achieve it.
And that is exactly what he has done.
In Ex 15:26 God states that if you obey My Laws, Commandments, and Statutes you will have none of the diseases of Egypt.
The Royal Egyptians ate refined white flour and refined white sugar and suffered from arthritis, lower bowel cancer and tooth decay that progressed to their brains and killed them.
We know this from their mummified remains.
In Deu 7:12-15 God expands His promise to
If you will obey My Laws, Commandments, and Statutes you will have none of the diseases of Egypt and you will never be sick.
The human body has not changed since Moses wrote down the Laws, Commandments, and Statutes so this promise also applies to believers today.
But we need to know and understand the Laws, Commandments, and Statutes in order to obey them.
Fortunately, as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ stated in: Matt 22:36-40
All the Laws and Commandments hang on two great Commandments.
One: Love the Lord thy God with all thy mind, body, soul, and strength
Two: Love your neighbor as thyself
Besides the great spiritual benefits of obeying these two Commandments, there is also the added physical health benefit of not internalizing stress.
Internalized stress is Fear.
But as I John 4:18 states, In perfect love there is no fear, perfect love casts out fear.
It is well known that internalized stress will lead to sickness.
Thus the Laws and Commandments, specifically the two great Commandments, will help keep you healthy, physically as well as spiritually.

The Biblical Statutes (which can be translated, “Way of Life”) are guidelines for how best to steward God’s gift of the human body.
There are two Main Categories:
First are the Physical Lifestyle Statutes
(Exercise, rest, and relaxation)
• From Adam, in the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:15)
• To you will work 6 days a week and rest one (Ex 20:9)
• To the righteous woman’s lifestyle (Prov Chapter 31)
• To the wise instruction to enjoy your labor (Ecclesiastes 2:24)
• To the example of Jesus (a carpenter) and of Jesus walking continuously in his ministry (Mark 6:13)
• To people performing laborious jobs (Mark 1:16)
• To the Commandment, “if you don’t work you don’t eat” (2nd Thes 3:10)
All these verses and examples can be summarized as an intense, strenuous, enjoyable lifestyle of 6 days duration, and then one day of rest.
God also commanded his OT believers to attend festivals (Ex 23:14-16, 34:22), which among other things equals relaxation and fun.
Again it is well known that exercise, proper rest, relaxation, and fun (Prov 17:22, a merry heart, doith good) are necessary to help you avoid sickness.
Second are the Dietary lifestyle statutes
(Growing of food)
• Rotate crops
• Do not glean the land
• Cultivate the land for 6 years and
• Rest the land for 1 year.
(Ex 9:31-32, Lev 19:9-10, 19, 25:3-5, and Deu 22:19).
Basically, this is best of organic farming.
-------------------------------------------
(Intake of Food)
• What to eat (clean, fit foods)
• What not to eat (unclean, unfit foods)
• What not to eat even of clean foods (the blood and fat)
(Lev 3:17, 7:23-27, Chapter 11, 17:10-14, and Deu 14:3-21)
(Cooking of Food)
• Roasting
• Baking
• Boiling
• Stir frying
(Ex 12:8, 16:23, Lev 6:21, 7:9, and 8:31)
God’s Statutes instruct us how to grow, prepare and eat the correct way in order to get nutrients we need, and avoid the toxins we don’t need.
Unfortunately, in today’s fallen world with its toxic environment of water and air pollution, and where farming soil is exceedingly depleted of nutrients; supplementation is necessary to provide back some of the nutrient density missing in today’s food that God intended for our bodies to function at their very best, even if we obey His statutes.
God doesn’t mention everything that is harmful to us in His Word; such as pesticides, preservatives, refined food stuffs, microwaving, or smoking.
But if you follow his guidelines for stewarding your body, (the Biblical Statutes) you will not have these harmful things in your life.
It is best to always follow the guidelines of the One who knows all and never changes…
…than to follow man made guidelines which are limited and always changing.
God warns us in Deu 25:58-61, that if we do not obey His Laws, Commandments, and Statutes, we will suffer all the diseases of Egypt and every other disease.
By following the Biblical statutes we are also following the two great Commandments because we are
Honoring our Makers wishes (For us to be in good health)
Yes, we have the freedom today to not follow these guidelines, to not exercise, to eat unclean foods, and to work 7 days a week.
That won’t mean that God loves us any less. That won’t mean we are not saved.
It just means that we’ll get sick.
God does not bring sickness upon us,
It is the result of a lifestyle of not obeying his Laws, Commandments, and Statutes.
God wants us to be in good health, our bodies to be strong temples and sturdy homes for the Christ in us, for as long as possible. Satan wants us to eat junk food and die quickly.
The choice is yours. Choose a lifestyle adhering to the Laws, Commandments, and Statutes, which may be challenging at times in our fallen world, but has a great reward (good health).
Or choose a lifestyle not adhering to the Laws, Commandments, and Statutesand receive its reward (sickness)
Remember, when challenges arise, renew your mind to
Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing.
And
Know that you can
Phil 4:13 …do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
